July 10 - The day got worse

Unfortunately, my friend from Hattiesburg, who I was going to run in honor of, has suffered a life-threatening setback. He went to the hospital yesterday coughing up blood. He went into cardiac arrest and oxygen was cut off from his brain for about 6 minutes. They have tested him today and determined he has very little brain activity. I believe God will call him home shortly. While the thought of that is glorious, the reality is that he will leave behind a wife and three young children. His oldest two are about the same age as my kids, Allison and Anna Ryan. He has also blessed the world with a third child who was born in February. Sadly, she likely will grow up having never known her father.

Remarkably, the faith of the family and their focus on our Heavenly Father has never waivered. I know they question what purpose all of this has, but they accept that there is a plan and that the future will glorify God thru all that has happened thru Jason. In this time, we lift up the family, the parents, Stephanie, Brad, the kids, and just ask that they be comforted, provided for, and soon have a peace. We will continually pray for them.
